Mali's  Story

Welcome to the rollercoaster of my life—where ADHD, resilience, and a good dose of humor have been the main players. It's been a journey filled with unexpected twists, laughs, and a few well-timed f&$ks for good measure. Join me as we dive into the heart of this adventure, with a special shout-out to the incredible community that's been my rock.

School Years and Sports:

Let's rewind to the days when suspension and I were practically on a first-name basis—a true story, backed by none other than the principal! Sports became my sanctuary, a place where laughter mixed with footy and cricket, providing an escape from the chaos.

Uni Years:

University life—a time when discipline often played hide and seek, and failures were mere speed bumps. Huge props to the uni's mystical services; I emerged with distinction, thinking, "Maybe helping others is my thing."

Corporate Battleground:

Fast forward to the corporate jungle, where impressive titles often masked the internal struggle. Climbing the ladder was a rollercoaster of anxiety, depression, and the art of pretending to have it all together. Kudos to the manager who saw through the charade, propelling me into a branch management position.

Corporate Learnings and Personal Development: Amidst the chaos, valuable lessons emerged
lessons in resilience, adaptability, and the importance of forging my own path. Those corporate struggles? They turned out to be stepping stones for personal growth, shaping the way I approach life's challenges.

The Turning Point:

Picture chest pains, numbness, and the sobering realisation at 24 that maybe I needed a bit of help. Enter general anxiety disorder, therapy, and the classic "psychologist goes elsewhere" plot twist. Two years of partying and job dissatisfaction ensued, but the story doesn't stop there.

ADHD Diagnosis: At 30, the plot thickens with a formal ADHD diagnosis. Acceptance, support networks, and coaching helped me rediscover my purpose beyond the corporate grind—turns out, I'm more than just a cog in the machine.

Gratitude for Family & Community Support:

The journey was made bearable, even triumphant, by the incredible sense of community that surrounded me. Having a network to share laughs, frustrations, and victories became my anchor. The power of communal support cannot be overstated—it's the bedrock upon which I built resilience and found solace. I owe a special thanks to my wife, who was my biggest rock throughout the journey. Without her love and support, Team Mali would have been lonely.

Importance of My First Psychologist:

In this journey, my first psychologist played a pivotal role and continues to do so. Through the twists and turns, their support and guidance provided a steady compass. Their influence shaped my approach to mental health and became a source of strength. A deep sense of gratitude is eternally owed to this guiding figure.

Coaching and Passion: I stumbled upon coaching through ADHD support groups, and it turns out, making people laugh and helping them navigate life's chaos is my true calling. Two years into coaching, I'm not just helping others; I'm actively collecting credentials like they're valuable life insights.

Current Chapter:

Married, well-travelled, and with a golf game that makes you question my Tiger Woods aspirations, I'm on a mission to guide others through the ADHD journey. Expect humor, a healthy dose of self-reflection, and tools for navigating life's unpredictable terrain.

In conclusion, my ADHD journey is a ride through life's unpredictability, filled with laughter, resilience, and valuable lessons from the corporate world. Join me in embracing the adventure, finding your purpose, and fostering a growth-oriented, caring space for all—because humor is the best way to navigate life's twists and turns. Cheers to the journey ahead!
